School Uniforms

Appropriate dress helps create a positive learning environment. Griffin Elementary School has a mandatory Uniform (Unified Dress Code) Policy. Students are expected to wear their school uniform each school day. Other attire may be permitted for special school activities or events, with approval from school administration.

Below is a brief description of our Uniform (Unified Dress Code) Policy:

Tops: Polo style shirts in the following colors: red, white, blue, green, light blue, teal, and pink. On Fridays, students may wear school t-shirts purchased from PTA.

Bottoms: skirt/skort, shorts, long pants in khaki/tan or navy blue

• Bottoms must be worn appropriately fastened or secured at waist level.

• Students may not wear jeans, basketball shorts, sweatpants, leggings (unless worn under skirt/skort)

Footwear: sneakers are recommended

• Students may not wear backless, sling-backs, or open-toed footwear. Slippers/flip-flops are also not allowed.

Please note: Uniforms for nationally recognized youth programs or organizations, such as Girls Scouts/ Boy Scouts, will be permitted on meeting dates.

Please make sure your child is following our uniform policy. All children should start wearing their school uniform on the very first day of school this August. Please call us at school if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your cooperation!
